Summer NAPE – Let the Deals Begin

NAPE is the oil and gas industry’s marketplace for buying, selling and trading prospects. It brings together oil and gas professionals with the purpose of meeting, networking, connecting and doing business.

NAPE was established in 1993 by the American Association of Professional Landmen and also includes IPAA, SEG and AAPG as partners. For more information, please visit http://www.napeexpo.com and follow NAPE on Twitter at @NAPE_EXPO.

NAPE currently offers three expos annually – two in Houston as well as one in Denver – with the biggest traditionally being the Summer NAPE in Houston, being held on August 10-11th of 2016, at the George R. Brown Convention Center in Houston. In addition to the Business Conference, Summer NAPE will feature a full day of domestic prospect presentations in the Prospect Theater, meeting space to make and fund deals and a tradeshow with hundreds of exhibitors. Summer NAPE has announced the speaker lineup for the Summer NAPE Business Conference. Part of the largest upstream oil and gas prospect event of its kind in the world, the Summer NAPE Business Conference will explore strategies for navigating industry changes, in-depth insights into U.S. shale plays, educating the public on the oil and gas industry and Texas’ role in America’s path to energy independence.

“As the oil and gas industry continues to adjust to this challenging new price environment, the most successful companies will be those that embrace change head-on and proactively explore new technologies and production strategies,” said Bernie J. Ulincy, CPL chairman of the NAPE Operators Committee. “Summer NAPE will continue to provide the can’t-be-missed deals and connections that NAPE is known for, but also equip attendees with skills and resources to evolve and remain resilient in our ever-changing industry.”

Kathy Cleveland Bull, international motivational speaker and founder of N~Compass Consulting, will keynote the Summer NAPE Business Conference luncheon with “On choice and change: taking charge of change at work and in life.” As a consultant specializing in change management, Bull will explore proven organizational change models and successful strategies for harnessing the energy of rapid-fire instability.

Ryan Sitton, commissioner for the Texas Railroad Commission, will present on “The Energy Race”, an in-depth look at Texas’ ability to fundamentally change the balance of power in global energy production. Since being elected in 2014, Sitton has worked to make the commission more efficient and effective so that Texas can lead America to energy independence.

Richard Stoneburner, managing director and partner with Pine Brook Partners, will explore “The Evolution of American Shale Plays: Where We Are and How We Got There.” Stoneburner, who has more than 38 years of oil and gas industry experience managing field operations for unconventional plays, will rank the maturity of America’s shale plays and how they could evolve in the future.

Javan “Jay” Ottoson, president and CEO of SM Energy, will discuss strategies for educating local communities and business leaders on the enormous impact America’s oil and gas industry plays in our everyday lives in “Telling Our Story: A Strategic Imperative.” Ottoson has more than 30 years of oil and gas industry experience in both the U.S. and in China.
